Boiler Plant and Brick Bund Removal

Boiler Plant and Brick Bund Removal

Client: Optimum
Project: 33 Cavendish Square, London

Brief Description:

KpH Environmental’s first project for our new client Optimum had its challenges!!

The project involved the removal of 4no. large boilers, cleaning, and degassing of 3no. 50,000ltr oil tanks and the demolition of the brick/concrete slab 20m Flue.

Scope of Works:

Like many of the challenges when carrying out this type of work in London , is the logistics and waste removal onsite. Although we were fortunate to have a vehicle ramp to the height restriction, it meant we were restricted on skip and vacuum tanker sizes to remove all waste streams.

Working closely with the building FM and Optimum site team KpH carried out the project in a professional manner and with a professional team.
Although the boiler removals were straight forward, we were also able to assist Optimum with some additional services when they needed some pipe freezing and welding carried out on the header pipework modifications.

The biggest challenge on this project was the 20m brick/concrete flue removal that ran the width of the plant room and was over 2m wide. KpH used a combination of a hydraulic cruncher as part of the controlled demolition and Hilti Breakers. The team did an amazing job, not only breaking out and removing the waste in a short time but also carrying out the work in a live plant room.

KpH were able to demonstrate the varied skills and services that we can offer clients on one project and to a high stand of satisfaction.
