Interserve, The London Temple

Oil Tank & Boiler Removal

Client: Interserve
Project: Oil Tank And Boiler Removal

Brief Description:

Interserve, who KpH Environmental have worked with successfully many times in the past, awarded us this latest project to dismantle and remove 3 Oil Storage Tanks; 4 Cast Iron Boilers; and associated underground pipework, from the London Temple in Lingfield. The works included the placement of 4 new Boilers. We successfully completed the works within the agreed budget and programme set by the Client.

Scope of Works:

The vessels were cleaned and degassed to allow them to be reduced via Hot Cutting methods. This was achieved working within a restricted space.

We designed an appropriate method for dismantling the cast iron Boilers with cold works, mitigating the need for hot works. We also coordinated the removal of the waste from the building; protecting the structure from the risk of damage and preventing any disturbance to the surrounding community.

Upon completion of the Heavy Plant removal, KpH took delivery of 4 new Boilers. Our Operatives worked in restricted conditions, utilising specialist lifting equipment, to manoeuvre the new Boilers into position. Our specialist team of Confined Space Operatives then set about removing all redundant flow and return pipework from within the 40 metre long Service Tunnel.

KpH successfully completed the handover back to the Client, who were very satisfied with the quality of our service.
