Oil Tank Removal

Water Tank Removal

Client: The Capitol Group
Project: Merton Civic Centre, Morden

Brief Description:

KpH were invited to tender for the project to clean, degas and remove 2no 22,000ltr and 1no 18,000ltr heating oil tanks for a new client, The Capitol Group.  After attending site to take the client through the proposal and the health and safety controls that would be in place for such a project, KpH were awarded the contract to remove the tanks.

Scope of Works:

With comprehensive Covid 19 procedures in place due to the close proximity to the public both externally in the car park and internally through the waste removal route, a detailed health and safety file was put together to maintain a safe working environment and enable the safe removal of the tanks.

With all permits and controls in place, KpH set about the removal of the remaining oil prior to cleaning. Suitable access was made into the tank room via ventilation shaft for tanker hoses and later fume extraction.

With the tanks cleaned and gas free, the team set up an extensive fume extraction system to allow clean air to be pumped into the space and fumes to be extracted out to the atmosphere.

KpH used a 110v Plasma Cutter to fragment the tanks as this is a much cleaner cut and reduces the risk of moving and storing gas cylinders  onsite.

The project was carried out to programme and left in a clean and tidy environment for future reuse.
