Deconstruction Rooftop AHU & Associated Parts
|Client:||ARJ Constructions Ltd|
|Project:||Oxford Street, London|
Having carried our many successful projects with ARJ at Selfridges, KpH was successful in winning the mechanical strip out of 10 plant rooms to remove Chillers, AHU’s, Gantries, Ductwork and Pipework.
A full rollout programme which included the fit out of the new plant was issued and KpH committed to the programme and times scales.
Scope of Works:
Due to the numerous locations of the plant rooms being just off the retail floors, much of the work needed to take place during night shifts. The KpH team also required transit routes through the shop floors that needed to be protected and material carefully moved through them.
The plant rooms were generally restrictive in space to work in and had live services running through them. Therefore great care needed to be taken to reduce and dismantle the plant at all times.
Rooftop AHU’s and Chillers proved to be just as awkward as transit routes over the roof were somewhat restricted. All the material needed to be reduced to enable operatives to manoeuvre them to the nearest goods lift location. This meant moving up and down gantry walkways in all weathers.
The removals have been carried out successfully and on time and budget.
