Scope of Works:

KpH have had a long-standing relationship with this client and his oil installation at Whitehall. Over many years KpH worked with the client to maintain and improve the installation to current legislation requirement’s and beyond.

As part of the ongoing improvements, the client was looking for improvements of fuel quality to the boilers, of which KpH was asked to advise on. During discussions with the client, KpH put forward the recommendation of installing a fuel filtration unit that would run continuously on a ring main to the tanks.

As part of the project KpH were instructed to complete the cleaning and degassing of basement vessels, installation of filter pumps and sump pump. As the building FM needed to maintain the heating throughout the project KpH operatives began with the cleaning of one tank at a time; and then proceeding with the installation of the filtration pumps in the adjacent pump room.

KpH fabrication team built and installed the frame work setting the new pumps on the frame and configured all new pipe work into the tank room. The reconfigured pipework was connected to the tank via newly welded sockets and prior to commissioning all pipework was pressure tested.

Due to existing water ingress issues in the tank room a sump pump was installed and connected to the site interceptor. Operatives transferred fuel over from one tank to another and continued the installation prior to commissioning the pumps.

The project was completed with no delays and all works carried out to a high safe standard.
